about.
Hi, my name is Karen Rietz and I am a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the state of Colorado. I completed my formal education in April 2024, receiving my Master of Acupuncture degree from Colorado Chinese Medicine University. I have been trained in acupuncture needling, dry needling, bloodletting, cupping, guasha, electrical stimulation, lifestyle advice, and tuina. I have continued my Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) education with a focus on the symptomatology of nervous system disorders and nerve pain, as well as general health & wellness concerns. Please note that TCM does not diagnose or treat Western labeled diseases, but rather focuses on the unique symptoms present for each patient, and then aims to restore balance in the body.

I have been influenced by holistic medicine since my early twenties after I was gifted a book on nutritional healing. Since then I have enjoyed researching a number of alternative concepts and therapies. However, it wasn't until being introduced to acupuncture in 2020 for tendonitis, and coming out of my treatment plan pain-free, with improved sleep, and a sense of inner calm, that I knew that this was the direction I wanted to go in life.

The Vail Valley has been my home for the past 20 years and I spend most of my free time hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and camping with my husband and two dogs. I also enjoy creating art and reading. As a member of this adventurous community, I understand how important feeling good in your body is. As your practitioner, my goal is to get you back out there doing what you love, and to support your wellbeing moving forward. I will always work with you to find the best treatment options for your needs and comfort level.
